score a buyer would give you — and show you where they would push the price down.

The gap nobody sees coming
Your business is running fine. That is not the same as being sellable.
Most owners we meet are not failing. Revenue is coming in, customers are loyal, and it
all looks solid from outside. The gaps only appear once a buyer starts looking — and by
then they are expensive to close.
It depends on you
The relationships, the judgement calls, the quality control. A buyer is not purchasing
a business that needs you in it. They are purchasing the part that runs without you.
Nothing is written down
Processes live in people’s heads. It works today because the same people show up.
A buyer reads that as risk and prices it accordingly.
The numbers don’t tell a story
Clean books are the entry ticket. A credible EBITDA bridge, defensible add-backs and
stable margins are what turn a 3x offer into an 8x one.
Who this is for
Owner-led trades and service companies doing $1M to $25M
The businesses that got built by working in them — where the owner is still the reason
it runs, and where that is quietly costing the most at the point of sale.
The five things that quietly cost you the multiple
These are the adjustments a buyer makes to your number, and the order they look for them.
Every one is fixable — just not in the ninety days before a sale.
01
Unsupported add-backsIf the adjusted EBITDA cannot be defended line by line, the buyer uses their number instead of yours.
02
Top-customer concentrationWhen a handful of accounts carry the revenue and the relationships are yours, the risk transfers to them at closing.
03
No documented SOPsQuality that depends on who is on shift is quality a buyer cannot underwrite.
04
Owner-dependent operationsIf it stops when you stop, they are buying a job. Jobs sell at a discount.
05
A weak digital footprintThe first thing an acquirer does is look you up. What they find should say business, not person with customers.
How the work actually gets done
The Symmetry Standard
A business built to one standard runs the same on a quiet Tuesday as it does at three
times the size. And a buyer can see it.
Most owners arrive at a sale with a story. This arrives with a file.
The Symmetry Standard is not a course and it is not a badge. It is the way the business
is documented, measured and run — and the evidence a buyer reads to understand why your
number is your number.
You keep control throughout.
Your people approve anything sensitive, every action is logged, and when something goes
off script you get an alert and a playbook — not a surprise.
01
Every process to one standard
Documented in the same format, so quality stops depending on who is on shift — and a new
hire can execute it in week one rather than month six.
02
KPIs set and measured automatically
The numbers that matter, produced by the system rather than assembled by someone on a
Friday. Performance becomes something you read, not something you remember.
03
Built to hold at any growth rate
The point of a standard is that it does not break when volume doubles. Scaling stops
meaning rebuilding, and stops meaning more of your time.
04
A file a buyer can actually read
Documented process, clean measurement and a defensible operating picture — assembled
before anyone asks for it, which is the only time it is worth anything.
Underneath it sits the automation — lead handling, call answering, reporting and follow-up
running without anyone remembering to do them.
The method
Intentional Value Planning
Four phases over twelve weeks. We are not an agency and we are not a software licence —
we build the systems that let a business run without its owner, and we stay until they
are working.
01
Understand
A full audit of how the business actually operates — where the money is made, where it
leaks, and what depends on you personally.
02
Design
A roadmap tied to the scorecard, sequenced so the highest-weighted gaps close first
rather than the easiest ones.
03
Implement
Documented process, automation that removes the manual work, and a market presence that
makes you the obvious choice.
04
Optimise
Measured against the same scorecard quarter by quarter, so progress is a number rather
than a feeling.
Two ways in
Most founders don’t exit rich. They exit exhausted.
Same destination — a business that runs without you and sells at a premium. The only
question is how much of it you want to do yourself.

Best if you want to understand the machine you are building, and you have
the time to be involved in building it.

Meet Servio
Nobody who calls us gets a voicemail.
Servio is our virtual receptionist. He answers the main line, works out what you
need, and either books you a time or puts you through to a person — at seven in
the morning or nine at night, on the first ring.
Answers every call, including the ones that arrive while we are already on a call
Books directly into the same calendar a human would use — no callback queue
Puts you straight through to a person when that is what you would rather have
Tells you he is a virtual assistant, and that the call is recorded, before anything else
Servio is the same automation we build for the businesses we work with.
We run it on our own front door first — if it is not good enough to answer our phone,
it is not good enough to answer yours.

Who you would be working with
Joseph Moore
Founder & Chief Executive
Twenty-five years building companies and leading three national brands. In 2018 he sold
one of his own — and learned what a premium offer looks like by not receiving one.
Symmetry exists so other owners do not repeat that. You work with Joseph directly, not
layers of account managers, and the engagement is deliberately limited so the work stays
hands-on.
He is straight about fit. If your business does not need this, or the
timing is wrong, he will tell you on the first call rather than the third.

Straight about it
We are not right for everyone
We take a limited number of partnerships at a time, because the work is hands-on.
A good fit if you
Run an owner-led service business doing $1M–$25M
Are determined to build a top-tier customer experience
See automation as an investment in the business and its people
Want a long-term partnership, not a vendor
Have a view of where this is going over the next few years
Believe systems and infrastructure add real value
Probably not if you
Need to sell within the next few months
Want a broker to list the business — that is not what we do
Want information rather than implementation
Want software you configure yourself
Would rather not change how the work gets done

Questions we are asked most
Is this confidential?
Completely. Nothing you tell us is shared, sold or passed to a broker. Most
owners are not ready for their team or their market to know they are even thinking about
this, and we work accordingly.
Do I have to be planning an exit?
No. Everything that makes a business sellable also makes it better to own —
it runs without you, margins improve, quality stops depending on who turns up. The exit is
simply the moment that work gets priced.
Are you brokers?
No. We do not list businesses and we do not take a cut of a sale. Brokers
arrive at the end; our work happens in the twelve to eighteen months before that, which is
where the multiple is actually decided.
Is this software, or a service?
A service. We use automation heavily, but you are engaging people who build
and run the systems with you — not buying a licence and being left to configure it.
Will this replace my staff?
No. It removes the repetitive work that stops your team doing what you hired
them for. In most cases people end up doing more of what they are good at, not less.
How long before I see results?
The first operational wins usually land within 30 to 60 days. Movement in a
valuation-relevant score is a twelve to eighteen month conversation, and anyone promising
faster is selling you something.
What happens on the call?
Twenty minutes. We go through your scorecard, tell you the two or three things
hurting your number most, and you leave with that whether you work with us or not. There is
no pitch, and if you are not a fit we will say so.
One place to start
Ten minutes now, or a discount at the table later.
Score your business the way a buyer would. You get the number, the category breakdown, and
the two or three things costing you most — whether we ever speak again or not.
100% confidential — never shared, never passed to a broker
